Trip to the park

Steve, Gid, Akira and I went to Fitzgerald park on Sunday. It was a perfect day to go, not too hot and not too cold. We started by going down to the river to check out the dam and show Gideon the river. He thought it was so cool and loved looking at all the things floating in the river. We also walked around the park and ended up at the playground. Gideon loved the slide (of course) and playing in the sand. We had a good time and Gideon was such a good boy. We are so lucky to have a wonderful park and lots of things to do in our town.

Gideon on a big pile of rocks. He found lots of spiders on them. :) What a boy.
Pictures of the dam.
Gideon looking wide eyed at the river. It is so big and loud from the dam he was in awe.

Gideon taking a minute to smile at the camera. Even though he didn't want to miss a thing on the river, hence the reluctant smile.

Zoo days

Last week mom stayed with us to help watch Gideon while I was teaching summer school. We had a chance to go to Potter Park Zoo and we had a good time. Gideon of course did not want to stay in the 'beep-beep' (aka stroller) so we had a day of holding hands, chasing and worry with lots of people around. It was so much fun and Gideon really loved seeing the animals that were being social that day. I enjoyed spending time with both Gideon and my mom. I really miss having her near. I am glad that she is so willing to come and spend time here. Here are some pics of our day. Some chips in the beep-beep. Yummy.

Looking at the monkeys. His favorite thing to watch. I wonder why? :) lol

My little monkey!

At the lion exhibit. We couldn't really see them; they were being anti-social.

Gid and Grammy (or me as Gid calls her).
